Strap yourself in, we’re in for a grand ride!
I am so happy to welcome Steve Lally, international storyteller and best-selling author, to Encounters with the Good People. Steve joins us today for a session of poems, music and a rollicking classic tale of the dreaded Pooka! You don’t want to miss this one.
You know sometimes someone is just born for one thing?
Growing up in County Kildare, Ireland, it seems Steve was destined from a young age to be a teller of tales.
Steve’s late Grandmother was a Storyteller, and it was clear to all who knew him that, even from an early age, he would follow in her footsteps, as he gathered up stories like corn and stored them all away.
Well, he’s all grown up now and as takes his stories far and wide.
As you will hear yourself, he is really passionate about breathing life into storytelling and folklore, and sure they have never been important than they are in these now, in these unsettling days.
***FABULOUS PRIZE GIVEAWAY***
To celebrate Steve’s first visit to Encounters with the Good People, we have a beautiful book to giveaway.
I’m delighted to offer a hardcover copy of the recently published book ‘The Anthology of Irish Folk Tales’ to one lucky listener. This enchanting collection of stories gathers together legends from across Ireland told by a wealth of talented storytellers, including our guest Steve Lally.
From fairies, giants and vampires to changelings and witches, this book celebrates the distinct character of Ireland s different customs, beliefs and dialects, and is a treat for all who enjoy a well-told story.
